Bierman has excelled at recruiting and coaching by bringing in classes that have won 30 team tournament titles, six American Rivers Conference titles, and played in five NCAA National Championships between the men’s & women’s golf teams. Bierman has also been named American Rivers Coach of the Year six times (2019, 2020, 2021, 2023, 2024, 2025).

During his tenure with the Spartans, Bierman has 14 American Rivers All-Conference players on the men’s side and 16 American Rivers All-Conference players on the women’s side. He has also produced four American Rivers Conference Player of the Year awards (2020 - Daniela Miranda, 2021 - Madison Bowers, 2023 - Leah Balsbaugh, 2024 - Morgan Hawkins, 2025 - Carter Ruegsegger). The Spartans also under Bierman’s watch have 22 individual medalist titles between the men’s and women’s teams.

In addition to success on the course, Bierman’s players have experienced great academic success, capturing both Academic All-American honors, Academic All-District Teams, and Academic All-Conference lists. Over his ten years the Spartans have over 60 players earn academic awards at a conference level and on a national level.

Bierman was a key component in bringing the Jim Martin Golf Studio to campus. The facility features an 800-square-foot putting surface with chipping areas and the latest in golf training technology, including a launch monitor system and simulator. He has also taking his teams on trips to Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas, Nashville, Scottsdale, and a team trip to Ireland in 2023.

A native of Newton, Illinois, Bierman began his college career at Parkland College in Champaign, Ill., before transferring to the University of Dubuque. Bierman holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Dubuque, and completed his master’s degree in athletic administration from Loras College.
