Tyler Thomas

St. Charles, Illinois native and assistant coach Tyler Thomas came to the University of Dubuque from Geneva High School in Geneva IL, where he was the head boy’s lacrosse coach for the Vikings and he compiled a 29-28 record over the past 4 years.

Thomas finished his playing career in 2014 when he graduated from Aurora University. At Aurora, he was a four-year player for the Spartans lacrosse team. Thomas concluded his playing career with 16 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers for the Spartans. Beginning in 2015, Thomas began coaching for Neuqua Valley High School in Illinois as an freshman assistant coach. In 2016, Thomas was the defensive coordinator for the U-13 travel team from River City Lacrosse Club. Off the field,

Thomas was named to the Midwest Lacrosse Conference’s All-Academic Team in 2014, named a Spartan Scholar Athlete in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and named to the Dean’s List in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Thomas graduated from Aurora University in December of 2014 with his bachelor’s degree in Special Education with an English as a Second Language Endorsement. He will be pursuing his master’s degree in sports management while at the University of Dubuque.
