Baltimore, Maryland native and assistant coach Abby McClure came to the University of Dubuque from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland, where she was a four-year player and two-year starter for the Bobcats women’s lacrosse team. McClure concluded her playing career with 16.88 goals against average with a 39.3% save percentage for the Bobcats. She had a team high of 152 saves in 835:31 minutes played. In addition to leading Frostburg with 35 ground balls, she finished fifth in the Capital Athletic Conference in saves and sixth in save percentage.Â
Beginning in May 2018, McClure began coaching for True Lacrosse Maryland. Her other previous coaching experience includes Strike Force Lax Skills Clinics and West Nottingham Academy’s varsity girls’ basketball team.Â
Off the field, McClure was named to the Capital Athletic Conference’s All-Academic Team in 2017, 2018, and 2019. McClure served as a women’s lacrosse representative for Frostburg’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee, as well as was the sports reporter for Frostburg’s student-run newspaper, The Bottom Line.Â
McClure graduated from Frostburg State in May 2019 with her bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science and a minor in coaching. She will be pursuing her master’s degree in sports management while at the University of Dubuque.
