Ryan Crabel joined the University of Dubuque staff as tight ends coach in July 2021, he moved to offensive line coach in 2022. He is the director of football operations and is coaching the tight ends. He previously spent three years with the Luther College Norse coaching staff and two seasons as offensive line coach.
Prior to Luther, he coached two years at Millikin University (2016-17) where he helped the Big Blue to the No. 1 passing offense in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). During his time as coach, he has mentored two All-CCIW wide receivers.
Crabel is a 2015 graduate of Coe College where he was a three-year letter winner for the Kohawks as an offensive lineman. During his time at UD, he has coaches three all-conference players: Karletty Faamatuainu - TE - 1st Team - 2021, Jack Connors - OL - 1st Team - 2022, 2023, and Wes Spitzmiller - OL - 2nd Team - 2022, 2023, 2024”
The Byron, Ill., native served as strength and conditioning coach at Byron High School during the summer off-season program from 2013-16. He resides in Dubuque, Iowa, with his girlfriend Samantha Flores and dog Willow.
