Rob Huberty entered the 2024 season as the line coach.
Huberty joined the Spartans staff in 2018 as the linebackers coach and special teams coordinator. During his time with the Spartans, Huberty coached 15 All-A-R-C defensive players, two All-Region players, and one All-American.
Prior to joining the Spartans, Huberty was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Augsburg University. During his time at Augsburg, he coached nine All-MIAC defensive players. In 2017, the defensive unit was tied for the MIAC lead in interceptions and was second in fumble recoveries. On Augsburg’s 2017 team, the first, second, and fifth place finisher in total tackles for the MIAC was on their defensive unit.
Huberty earned his Master of Arts in Criminal Justice Leadership while serving as a graduate assistant at Concordia University-St. Paul working with the linebackers. During his time through the 2013-2015 seasons, he coached four All-NSIC linebackers.
Huberty earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology while playing at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He was a member of two NCAA Division II National Championship teams (2008, 2010). Huberty was a three-year starter at linebacker. In 2011, during his senior season, he was selected NSIC Defensive Pre-season Player of the Year along with being named captain. Minnesota-Duluth was 52-5 over his playing career (2008-2011).
Huberty is a native of Lena, Wis., and graduated from Lena High School in 2007. He currently resides in Dubuque with his wife, Shauna and daughter Logan.
