Jon Zohlmann

Zohlmann joined the Spartans in 2025. He most recently served as the defensive backs coach and co-special teams coordinator at Rockford University (Ill.) In 2024,  Rockford University, had the best season record since 2007 and had defensive improvement including the best scoring defense and least total yards allowed since 2018. The young group accomplished the most pass break-ups since 2015 (35). The Regents included success on special teams with punter, Kaden Finnestad, who led the conference in punt yard average with 40.2yds/punt and also made the d3football.com team of the week for week 3 of the 2024 campaign. 

Prior to Rockford he spent two years as the coaching the defensive line at Nebraska Wesleyan University (Neb.). In his last season at NWU in 2023, they finished with the most sacks in a season (18) since 2014. The Prairie Wolves also had the most tackles for loss (61) and best rush defense (138.2 yards/game) since 2012.

Zohlmann played collegiately at Central College in Pella and was a defensive lineman for one year and spent the rest of his playing time on the offensive line. He was part of two American Rivers Conference Championships winning teams (2019, 2021). He also was a student-athlete on two NCAA Division III Football playoff berths including a quarterfinal run in 2021.

He was a 2022 graduate of Central College with a B.A. in psychology and resides in Dubuque with his significant other Jaydyn.
