Hunter Johnson will be joining the Spartans staff in 2022 as a Graduate Assistant helping the defensive backs.
He earned a bachelor's degree in early 2022 at Westminster College Missouri. He started his football career in high school before going into Westminster to play quarterback. After freshman year, he transferred to safety to play out his remaining three years of college football. After a final head injury in week seven of his senior year, he was medically removed from the sport, and helped the defensive backs as an unofficial assistant coach.Â
In high school, he earned multiple All-District and All-Conference honors while playing quarterback and safety in his senior year. He also ran track and took fifth place in state for the 4x400m relay. He will be living in Dubuque as he coaches football and earns his master’s degree.
