DUBUQUE, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) released its first conference athlete of the week honors for the 2026=27 academic year on Tuesday as Taylor Bechen (Volleyball) and Salalee Seejong (Women's Tennis) represented the University of Dubuque.

Bechen (Ankeny, Iowa / Ankeny Centennial HS) totaled 131 digs throughout five games to open the 2026 season, averaging just over six and a half digs per set (6.55). Bechen was also named to the Illinois Wesleyan Classic All-Tournament team this past weekend.

The University of Dubuque women's volleyball team is currently 3-2 and will play again on Friday, September 11, at the KTIS Classic in St. Paul, Minn., this upcoming weekend.

Seejong (Koh Samui, Thailand / Theeparatpittaya HS) has led the Spartans to a perfect 4-0 record to open the 2026-27 season. Seejong is 4-0 in singles, with three of those matches at #1 singles. In doubles, Seejong holds a 3-1 record.

The University of Dubuque women's tennis team's next match is on Saturday, September 12, to open conference play at Wartburg College.
