PEORIA, Ill. - The University of Dubuque women's cross country team competed in the 5k race tonight at the Bradley Intercollegiate, where the Spartans finished fifth as a team. Senior Dede Davis set the new University of Dubuque women's cross country 5k school record by shattering the previous record by over a minute.

Davis had the race of her career tonight as she was able to run a time of 17:27.0 to become the new women's 5k school record holder at the University of Dubuque. Davis beat the previous school record by a minute (Lisa Demerath - 18:26). Davis placed sixth tonight and was the only non-Bradley runner in the top 10.

Keely Williams finished 26th and ran a time of 19:37.1. Williams is now sixth in school history in the 5k. Kylie Olmstead crossed the finish line in 19:50.1 to finish inside the top 40 in 38th place. Olmstead enters the all-time top 10 in the women's 5k at No. 6. Clarisa Ostrowski was able to finish 56th and ran a time of 21:42.2, while Maia Acton rounded out the scorers for the Spartans with a 62nd-place finish. Acton paced herself at 22:21.8.

Other finishers for the Spartans included Alexia Pecora (22:54.9) in 68th, Delainey Woodman (24:28.8) in 79th, and Lacey Bender (26:15.1) in 91st.
