ST. PAUL, MINN. - The University of Dubuque women's volleyball team closed the KTIS Classic with a 3-0 sweep over Concordia College (Minn.) on Saturday afternoon (25-16, 28-26, 27-25). The Spartans finished the weekend 3-0 and improved to 6-2 overall this season.
The Spartans controlled the opening set, taking a 25-16 victory before battling through two tightly contested sets to complete the sweep. During the second set, the two teams were tied 14 times as the Spartans came out on top to win the set 28-26. In the third set, 12 lead changes occurred before UD finished on a high note, securing the set 27-25.
Chloe Reiser led the Spartans offensively with 15 kills on a .367 hitting percentage and added nine digs.
Delainey Winkel finished with 12 kills and nine digs, while
Caitlin Jensen added six kills and two total blocks.
Alexis Kammerer recorded 32 assists and nine digs as well, while
Taylor Bechen led the defense with 17 digs.
Julia Schultz added five digs and led the Spartans from the service line with two aces.
