PELLA, Iowa – The University of Dubuque baseball team battled with Central College in a doubleheader on Saturday. Despite home runs from Justin Potts and Will Sullivan, the Spartans fell in both games.
Game One
Sullivan went 3-4 with a walk, RBI, and run scored in the 4-3 extra-inning loss. Potts and Vic Pico both hit doubles during the contest. Shae Buskohl pitched seven marvelous innings, allowing six hits and two runs while walking one and striking out nine. Dominic Pelizza was hit with the loss after throwing 2.2 innings in relief and allowing the winning run.
Game Two
Pico finished with multiple hits in a 2-4 day where he scored twice. Potts and Sullivan both crushed home runs to right field, with Sullivan's blast being a team-leading fifth. Ashr Harris was tagged with the loss after allowing six earned runs across 0.2 innings. Colton Karczewski threw four innings in relief, allowing four hits and one earned run.

The Spartans will host Wartburg College for a three-game series next weekend. The teams will play a doubleheader on Friday, which will also be the Spartans' Senior Day. The series will conclude on Sunday.
