DECORAH, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's basketball team opened up their four game road trip with a trip to the Luther College Norse on Wednesday evening. The Spartans had a huge third quarter to cut the Norse lead to single digits, but would fall to the Norse 76-64.

After trailing by 16 at the half against the Norse, the Spartans would score 27 points in the third quarter, their most in a quarter this season to pull within 57-50 through 30 minutes. The Spartans would be able to cut the deficit all the way to four in the first minute of the fourth, but the Norse would maintain their lead throughout. 

Lily Craig had a career night for the Spartans scoring 18 points on 6-12 (50%) shooting from the field and make a season-high 3/5 from beyond the arc. Craig also was active on the defensive end of the floor with three steals and two blocks. Christina Simonetti tied a season high in both points and rebounds with a 17-point, 14-rebound double-double, the senior's sixth of the season. 

Grace Brumley added 10 points off the bench, while Taylor Martin finished with nine points. 

In the third quarter tonight, the Spartans shot 10-17 (58.82%) from the field and knocked down three of their five three-pointers in the game.

The Spartans will have their off day from the conference schedule this upcoming Saturday before returning to action a week from tonight on Wednesday, January 28 at the Loras College Duhawks. The Spartans will be looking for the regular season sweep of the Duhawks when they tipoff at 5:30 p.m.
