DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's basketball team celebrated National Girls & Women in Sports Day as well as Alumni Day. The Spartans would fall to the Simpson College Storm on Saturday.
The Spartans trailed 12-4 in the first five minutes of the game, but a 9-4 run to end the first quarter had the Spartans trailing by five. The Storm would dominate the second and third quarters that ultimately decided the decisive game for the Storm.
Christina Simonetti posted her 11th double-digit scoring outing with 12 points in just 16 minutes on the floor. Simonetti also finished with four rebounds, two blocks, two steals, and was 6-8 at the free throw line.
Lilly Craig finished her day with nine points, while
Karsyn Pankonen added seven points.
The Spartans are 4-12 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
