CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's basketball team fell to a very good (RV) Coe College team on Wednesday night, dropping the road contest 77-37.
Taylor Martin and
Grace Brumley each hit a three-pointer in the opening quarter and the Spartans ended the quarter trailing by 10. However, they could not get enough going on the offensive end of the floor tonight in the road loss.
Christina Simonetti led the Spartans tonight with nine points and 10 rebounds, just one point shy of what would have been her fourth straight double-double.
Karsyn Pankonen got her first career start tonight, playing 32 minutes. Eight Spartans got into the scoring column with five Spartans scoring five apiece.
The Spartans went 11-13 (84.6%) at the free throw line tonight and shot seven more free throws than the Kohawks.
The Spartans are now 4-11 overall and fall to 2-4 in conference play.
