WAVERLY/WATERLOO, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's tennis team grabbed two championships this weekend at the 2025 Men's American Rivers Conference Individual Championships. The Spartans "C" Flight duo of
Andrew Bollis and
Jake Westberry won their division and Westberry won the "d" Flight singles for head coach
Chad Fenwick.

Jake Westberry opened with a victory over BV's Owen Stansberry by a 4-1, 4-0 score. He used a tie break to capture the victory in the next round over Wartburg's Noah Vint by a 4-1, 2-4, 10-8 score. He won 4-0, 4-2 over Central's Brody Ferrell in the round of 16. Westberry outlasted Wartburg's Hinata Hayashi in a tough championship match 5-4 (7-4 in tie break), 5-4 (8-6 tie break).Â

Andrew Bollis in the "C" Flight doubles and the pair would win the title. The pair received a first round bye and then won 6-2 over Luther's Nirbhay Chhabra/Luke Gogolewski. The two continued their march through the bracket with a win over Loras's Jack Seda/Arrazate Diego Hernandez by a 6-4 margin. In the next round, the Spartans beat Buena Vista University's Ryan Smith/Nick Hiney 6-4. UD won the championship round by another 6-4 margin when the two captured the win over Central's Hayden Sinclair/Donovan Klish.Â

Wilkinson Tennis Complex in St. Peter, Minn. for the ITA Regional Championships on Sept. 26-27 hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College. The tournament will wrap up their 2025 fall schedule.
