CHICAGO, Ill. - The University of Dubuque men's soccer team started the season on the road as they took on North Park, falling 3-0 at the full-time whistle.
The Spartans started the match quick with the first shot of the game off the foot of Jose Serra before the Vikings struck with just under seven minutes played, scoring to put them up 1-0. The Spartans settled in and were able to maintain a strong defensive stand for the rest of the half.
In the second half of the match, Spartans' goalkeeper Riley Johnson made six saves. The Vikings scored two quick goals in the later stages of the game to increase their lead late. The loss opens the Spartans' season and will look to rebound in their home opener tomorrow night.

The Spartans will play their home opener tomorrow, August 30, as they face off against Grinnell College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. from Oyen Field.
