CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) released the final A-R-C All-Sports Trophy standings on Wednesday afternoon. The University of Dubuque Spartans finished third in the Combined All-Sports Trophy standings, while they were second in the Elmer Hertel Men's All-Sports Trophy standings and fifth in the Marjorie Giles Women's All-Sports Trophy standings.
Overall, the Spartans had three conference champions in 2024-2025 (women's golf, men's basketball, and men's golf) to help the Spartans tie their highest combined team finish since 2021-2022. The men's teams had their highest finish ever in the history of the Elmer Hertel Men's ALl-Sports Trophy standings.
The men were led by the University of Dubuque men's golf team who won the A-R-C Men's Golf Tournament back on April 29 for their first conference title since 2014. The University of Dubuque men's track and field team finished second at the A-R-C Outdoor Track & Field Championships and were led by Otis Patterson who finished as the A-R-C Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year as well as numerous conference champions and all-conference performers. These two teams helped the Spartans propel themselves into a second place finish in the Elmer Hertel Men's All-Sports Trophy standings through 10 collegiate sports.
