MELBOURNE, Fla. - The University of Dubuque split on Thursday at the 2025 Space Coast Complex Spring Games. The Spartans dominated their opener winning 12-0 in five innings against Houghton College. In game two, UD out hit the Concordia-Moorhead Cobbers 10-8 in a 5-2 loss.
The Spartans compiled 14 hits against Houghton College in a early ending five innings by a 12-0 margin. The duo of
Megan Leick and
Katie Hayes both ended the afternoon with three RBI's each, both went 2-3 at the plate with Leick scoring one run and Hayes two runs.
Lauren Jacobs was 3-4 at the plate with two RBI's and run.
Audrey Morris was a perfect 2-2, scored two runs, and walked twice. UD finished with 11 RBI's with
Ally Gullette collecting her fourth win on the mound. She tossed five complete innings and allowed just four hits, no walks, and fanned three batters,
The second game, UD scored two runs off 10 hits and left eight runners on base in the loss.
Kaitlyn Powell had the games only triple and went 3-4 at the plate with an RBI.
Grace Stevenson would finish with a double along with
Bella Allison. Stevenson was 2-4 with an RBI and
Audrey Morris was 2-3.
Megan Leick would be left on base three times in the loss.
Concordia scored five runs off eight hits and both teams played errorless.
Ciaran Rigby threw the complete seven inning loss and allowed five earned runs while striking out four.
The Spartans will play their final two games of their spring break trip on Friday, March 7. UD opens up play at 2:30 p.m. (EST) and will end their trip against Rivier University at 4:45 p.m. (EST).
