KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The University of Dubuque softball team kicked off their spring break trip on Sunday with an opening day sweep with victories over Johnson & Wales University by a score 6-4 and Chatham University by a 13-8 margin.
Ally Gullette pitched the complete game against Johnson & Wales allowing 11 hits, four earned runs with six strikeouts after facing 33 batters. Offensively
Katie Hayes had the hot bat going 3-3 with two RBI's, a double, and a sac fly.
Grace Stevenson led with two stolen bases trailed by
Megan Leick and
Jordyn Wogomon who both collected one stolen base. Defensively, UD played errorless and turned one double play.
In game two, the Spartans compiled 13 runs off 18 hits with four doubles and a triple.
Anna Luczak finished with the lone triple in the top of the second inning. Four Spartans finished with doubles:

Lauren Jacobs, and
Audrey Morris. UD ended. the game with six stolen bases and one doubleplay.
Ciaran moved to 2-0 on the season after tossing 4.1 innings and allowed two earn runs and four hits after facing 23 batters.
The Spartans 4-0 overall begin play at the Space Coast Spring Games at the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Melbourne, Fla. on Monday, March 3 when they face Rose-Hulman University and Rivier University later in the afternoon.
