MADISON, Wis. - The University of Dubuque men's tennis team opened 2025 with a pair of road wins to improve to 2-2 this season. The Spartans won 5-2 over Edgewood College and 7-0 over Crown College on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The Spartans cruised to a sweep over Crown College winning the doubles point by winning #1 doubles Gavin Murrie/Pedwar Castillo 6-2, Jake Wallrichs/Ryan Kiddle 6-2, and #3 doubles Elia Desario/Andrew Bollis 6-1. 

In singles, #1 singles Gavin Murrie won 6-0, 6-0, #2 singles Jake Wallrichs battled through a tie break in the first set to win 7-6 (9-7), 6-1, #3 Singles  Pedwar Castillo won 6-1, 6-3, #4 singles Ryan Kiddle won 6-3, 6-1, #5 singles Andrew Bollis won 6-1, 6-0, and #6 singles Elia Desario won 6-0, 6-0.

In the Edgewood dual, UD won #1 doubles Gavin Murrie/Pedwar Castillo 6-3, #2 doubles Jake Wallrichs/Ryan Kiddle lost 6-2, #3 doubles Andrew Bollis/Elia Desario won 6-1.

In singles action, #1 singles Gavin Murrie won 6-3, 6-2, #2 singles Jake Wallrichs won 6-0, 1-6, (11-9 in tie break), #3 singles Pedwar Castillo won 4-6, 6-3 (10-6 in tie break), #4 singles Ryan Kiddle lost 2-6, 6-1, (4-10 in tie break), #5 singles Andrew Bollis lost 4-6, 5-7, and #6 singles Elia Desario won 6-1, 6-0. 

The Spartans host St. Mary's University on Feb. 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the CRWC.
