PLATTEVILLE, WIs. - The University of Dubuque men's wrestling captured a road win on Friday night at UW-Platteville by a 24-15 margin and improved to 2-0 in dual meets. It was a night which started with a disqualification by the Pioneers at 125 lbs. after
Caleb Edwards led 3-1 in the match. The host Pioneers would grab three wins in a row to lead 10-6. It was UD's turn to run away and win four matches in a row. UD won at 157 lbs to pull within a point and pushed their lead after claiming three more matches to lead 21-10 through the 184 lbs. The 174 lbs. match UD's #8 ranked
Zane Pannell added extra points with a fall in 6:53. UWP made it interesting after winning 197 lbs. with a tech fall and adding five points. UWP would need a fall in the final weight to tie the match. UD's #8 ranked
Justin Matson entered the third period knotted at 1-1 before a late rally in the final 12 seconds with a monstrous take down to win the 285 lbs. round 4-1 and handing the Spartans the match 24-15.
