DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The University of Dubuque men's basketball team dropped their non-conference finale on Monday night to Transylvania University in their final game on their Florida trip.
The Spartans just did not have it offensively tonight, scoring a season low 45 points. The Spartans trailed by eight at the half, a similar position they were in yesterday, but just had an off night shooting the ball.
Drew Apiagyei led the Spartans with 10 points, while
Joey Coppola IV and
Jayden Hunt each added nine points off the bench. Hunt's nine points are a career-high for the first-year player.
Jacob Williams finished his night with a 10 rebound game.
Hear from Robbie Sieverding
"We really struggled tonight and didn't play very good and that had a lot to do with our opponent. We struggled shooting the basketball and just couldn't get going offensively. We had several guys get some experience that will hopefully help us down the road and hopefully we can continue to be a more consistent team."
The Spartans close out the non-conference slate at 8-3 and will ramp up the conference slate in 2026, currently sitting at 1-1 in two league games played thus far.
