ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The University of Dubuque men's cross country team competed at the Augustana Interregional on Saturday morning. The Spartans finished 31st in the elite gold race with 849 team points.
Anthony Carney Jr. led the way yet again for the Spartans, recording a top 30 finish.
The gold race this morning for the men's 8k had elite competition in the field. The field consisted of 14 nationally ranked teams and 33 of the 36 teams are currently regionally ranked inside the top 10 or have been at some point this season in six of the 10 regions.
Carney Jr. ran a great race today finishing in 28th place after a 8k personal record performance of 24:56.7. Carney Jr. was in the top 30 of a field of 339 runners.
Trentyn Gilges ran a season-best 26:14.9 today to finish in 143rd place.
Aiden Mohr (273rd) ran 27:24.4, while
Jackson Croft (286th) was shortly behind in 27:36.0. The top five was rounded out by
Evan Robertson (291st) with a time of 27:45.0.
Carter Richter (296th),
Logan Karottu (300th), and
Jack Mulert (320th) were the other Spartans in the gold race this morning.
