DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's basketball team hosted the Simpson College Storm on Saturday where the Storm grabbed an eight point halftime lead and held on for a 75-68 win.
After trailing by eight points at the half, the Spartans got within seven after three quarters, but would be unable to pull any closer in the final 10 minutes.
Mia Miller led the Spartans with 15 points. Miller also secured six rebounds and grabbed three steals.
Madi Petersen was 6-7 from the field for 14 points.
Morgan Hawkins had nine points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.
The Spartans shot better from the floor than the Storm, 23-48 (47.9%). However, the Spartans had a critical 20 turnovers that led to 19 Storm points which ended up being a big difference in the game. There was a total of three ties and five lead changes in the game.
The Spartans fall to 7-11 overall and 4-5 in conference play.
