ADRIAN, Mich. – The University of Dubuque men's hockey team traveled to #7 Adrian College for an NCHA on Friday night. The Spartans were up to the challenge scoring two goals in a 7-2 loss to the Bulldogs.
The Spartans scored at 16:51 of the first period as
Max Erstad scored his fourth goal of the season for the Spartans with the assist from
Nikita Borodayenko to head into the first intermission trailing 2-1. The Spartans tied the game 2-2 as Borodayenko netted his sixth goal of the season and his 16
th total point this season. The Spartans battled hard to have more looks on goal as Borodayenko led the Spartans with three shots on goal. The Bulldogs put together five straight goals to end the game as the Spartans fell to Adrain 7-2
The Spartans had 20 shots on the night while also winning 24 faceoffs. Goalie
Erik Chaffe faced 40 shots while making 33 saves on the night playing all 60:00 minutes.
Nikita Borodayenko won seven faceoffs,
Jake Lamberty won five, and
Lyncoln Bielenberg-Howarth and
Zach Burfoot each won four faceoffs each.
