Box Score STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The University of Dubuque women's soccer team hit the road Saturday to Stevens Point to take on the UW-Stevens-Point Pointers in a non-conference matchup. In a back forth battle, the Spartans all around had a good performance as they tie with the Pointers in a 2-2 draw to move to 2-0-1 on the season.
The Spartans got things going early on offense in the tenth minute of the first half off a goal from sophomore
Kaelyn Nash with her first goal of the season as the assist was from senior defender
Virginia Speltz. The Pointers quickly answered 27 seconds later to equalize the score. However, 23 seconds after the Pointers goal, forward
Emma Kober put the Spartans back on top for her fourth goal of the season. Kober finished the game with five shots, while
Samantha Scodeller,
Virginia Speltz, and
Alyssa Tranchita added three total shots each for the Spartans. Freshman goalkeeper
Samantha Jurgens made seven saves on the night for the Spartans. As a team, the Spartans had 18 total shots with eight of them being on goal, as well as earning seven corner kicks.
