BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The University of Dubuque women's golf team battled among the leaders in a competitive field at the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic at Ironwood Golf Course (Par 72, 5,832 yards) finishing 7th out of 19 teams with a two-day team total of 621. The tournament hosted 124 golfers, Leah Balsbaugh led the Spartans with a strong performance, shooting 77-76 for a two-day total of 153, to tie for 18th place. The team showed consistency across the board, with several players posting solid scores. The Spartans (reigning A-R-C champions) continue to gain momentum leading up to the A-R-C Conference Championship in early October.

Head coach Dustin Bierman on the team's results, "The ladies played solid over two days, but I still feel like we can go lower. It was nice to see consistency from our freshmen, and they did a great job battling through the rounds. Leah had a very good weekend, hitting the ball great. We need to keep getting better and pushing because this team has a high ceiling moving forward."
