Men's Tennis Battle Prairiewolves in A-R-C Action

Box Score DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's tennis continued a busy finals week of action on Frank Farber Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon. The Spartans lost 9-0 to the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairiewolves.

The Spartans began the match in near perfect Iowa spring conditions at the Frank Farber Tennis Courts. Pedwar Castillo and Ryan Kiddle lost #1 doubles by a 8-2 margin. Ryan Linkie and Dawson Freese fought at #2 doubles, but lost a tight match 8-4. The #3 doubles team of Alexander Hardin/Elia Desario would also lose by an 8-4 score.

The visiting Prairiewolves would win all six singles matches. Pedwar Castillo lost at #1 singles 6-1, 6-0. Ryan Linkie lost at #2 doubles 6-0, 6-0. Alexander Hardin at #3 singles took two games in each set in a 6-2, 6-2 loss. Ryan Kiddle at #4 singles lost 6-2, 6-2, Dawson Freese at #5 singles lost the first set after leading 3-2 by a 6-3 final and lost the second set 6-1. Elia Desario at #6 singles lost 6-3, 6-0.

The final regular season meet will be on Friday, April 26, against the Buena Vista University Beavers on Senior Day. The match has been moved to the Black Hawk Indoor Tennis Club in Waterloo, Iowa beginning at 5:00 p.m. due to impeding weather on Friday and the campus hosting graduation ceremonies in the Chlapaty Recreation and Wellness Center.

The American Rivers Conference Team Tournament begins on Tuesday, April 30.
