DE PERE, Wis. - The University of Dubuque women's hockey team opened their final regular season series of the season tonight as they face the St. Norbert College Green Knights for the first time in program history. The Green Knights were able to net three goals to defeat the Spartans in the first game of two.
After two goals by the Green Knights in the first period, the Spartans settled down giving up only one goal in the third period.
Madilynn Schiile led with four total shots and
Olivia Hodges was the only other Spartan to reach multiple shots with two.
With her NCAA leading 912 saves,
Savannah Wuitschick added another 37 saves in 60 minutes in goal. With 51 saves tomorrow, Wuitschick will reach 1,000 saves on the season.

The Spartans will face St. Norbert again at 3:00 p.m. tomorrow at the Resch Olympic Pavilion. The Spartans can still make the Slaats Cup Playoffs trailing by one point in the conference standings. With a win tomorrow and a loss by Lawerence, the Spartans will be advancing to the postseason.
