Volleyball Falls in NCAA Regional Semifinals

HOLLAND, Mich. - The University of Dubuque volleyball team lost in the 2024 NCAA Division III Regional Semifinals on Friday afternoon to Millikin University 3-0 with set scores 25-23, 25-19, and 26-24. UD finishes their first season under head coach Karrah Davis with a 24-10 overall record.

A trio of Spartans finished the day with seven kills each, Caitlin Jensen, Payton Uptagraft and Emma Powell. Powell played in 123 sets and collected 391 kills in 2024 and saw action in 501 sets (second place all-time) and compiled 1,690 kills in her career for third all-time in the UD record books. Five-time American Rivers Conference defensive player of the week in 2024, Taylor Bechen, grabbed 22 digs in the loss and finished with 714 digs this season (third all-time). Alexis Kammerer finished with 18 set assists and 704 in 2024. Ashlyn McGinnis had 14 set assists and a service ace against Millikin and she finishes with 525 set assists for the season.

The Spartans were held to 36 kills with a hitting percentage of .175. UD finished with 82 digs and 12 block assists against Millikin. The match was tied 19 times and had five lead changes.
