Hear from Robbie Sieverding
"Tonight was not our night and give credit to Edgewood. They played really hard and executed better than we did on both ends. The 16 turnovers really hurt us as they converted on many of those. We need to execute better and we have a couple days of practice to prepare for a very good opponent in Augustana."
McCants led the Spartans with 17 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
Garrett Baumhover and
Grady Thompson got their first minutes of the season off injuries with both scoring in the game.
The Spartans had 16 turnovers in the game that proved to be costly as Edgewood turned them into 24 points on their end of the floor. The Spartans struggled from beyond the arc tonight as well, only making four three-pointers in their 20 attempts.
In a back-and-forth battle, there were eight ties and 12 lead changes throughout the game.
The Spartans loss snaps their 15 game regular season non-conference winning streak and moves them to 1-1 on the season.
