DUBUQUE - The University of Dubuque women's wrestling team won their first ever home dual meet on Saturday in the historical McCormick Gymnasium over the Buena Vista University Beavers by a final score of 27-6. The action kept the crowd's attention in a fast paced match with points being scored quicker than one could blink.
The match began at 143 lbs. and Tatum Levendahl scored quickly to grab a tech. fall in 1:05 after leading 10-0. Alex Hofrichter at 155 lbs.scored 10 points in :48 seconds to end the match early 10-0 for the tech fall. Brianna Seixas at 191 lbs. won by a fall as time ran out at the end of the first period (3:00). Shea Reisel at 116 lbs. won by tech. fall in 2:52 after a dominating the 17-4 victory.
The Spartans will continue their schedule at the Quad Cities DIII Invite next weekend Feb. 2-3 in at the Bend XPO in East Moline, Ill.
