DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's hockey team was finally back at ImOn Arena on Friday afternoon after well over 40+ days since their last home competition. On the ice, the Spartans were able to force OT, but could not hold on as Lawrence scored the game winning goal in the final minute of OT.
Lawrence was able to score the game's first goal in the 13th minute, but the Spartans answered quickly off a shot from
Max Erstad on assists from
Phil Schader and
Tyler Alexander to even the game at 1-1 through the first period. The second and third periods were quite offensively as neither team could find the back of the net to send the game to overtime for the first time at ImOn Arena for the Spartans.
In the 3 vs 3 overtime period, with only a minute remaining before a shootout, Lawrence was able to get a clean look off a rebound for the game winning goal.
