CHICAGO, Ill. - The University of Dubuque baseball team fell behind early on Thursday's road contest by a 0-3 score. UD rallied for five runs in the third, two in the fourth and one in the ninth inning en route to a 8-6 road win. The Spartans scored eight runs off 10 hits and committed one error as the host North Park University scored six runs off a game leading 17 hits, but made two miscues.
Kyle Radi finished the day 3-4 at the plate with an RBI as teammate
Brandon Watkins went 2-5 with two RBI's.
Cole DeStefanis and
Hunter Hicks both ended with a hit with two RBI's each.
Aidan Elfering started the game and tossed three innings, faced 18 batters and struck out two and allowed four earned runs.
Noah Zoglman collected the victory after three innings with two strike outs and allowing one earned run after facing 11 batters.
Anthony Scanlon threw one inning and allowed just two hits.
Derek Hardin earned the save after finishing the final two innings and giving up one earned run after four hits.
The Spartans (22-10 overall) will enjoy two days rest before returning after graduation on Sunday when they host Washington University in St. Louis (25-13) for a doubleheader on senior day beginning at 12:00 p.m.on Dan. W. Runkle Field.
