Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 STORM LAKE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's tennis team captured a victory in their final match of the year and their first American Rivers Conference match on Saturday with a 6-3 win over Buena Vista University.

It was a busy weekend for the men's team. The Spartans journeyed to Nebraska on Friday and would lose to Midland University 0-7 (NAIA rules of doubles counting as 1 point) and lost to Nebraska Wesleyan University 0-9.

Saturday UD's #1 doubles team of Duck, Rashuan / Bachmann, Bjarne won 8-6.The #2 doubles team of Husemann, Josh / Kiddle, Ryan lost a tight battle 5-8 and the #3 doubles team of Freese, Dawson / Hardin, Alexander would win by forfeit to take 2-3 doubles matches.

In singles play, the Spartans would volley into extra tie break sets in three of the six singles matches. Bachmann, Bjarne  lost the first set 3-6, captured the second set 6-3 and won the third set tie break 6-1 to claim #1 singles. Castillo, Pedwar  lost #2 singles by a 4-6, 2-6 score. Duck, Rashuan at #3 singles lost the first set in extras, 6-7, rallied back to take the second set 6-3 and lost the tie break 4-10. Hardin, Alexander at #4 singles lost the first set 0-6, won the second set in extras 7-5 and a fun, lengthy battle in the tie break would end in favor of Hardin 12-10. McIntyre, Brady  won the #5 singles 6-1, 6-2. Freese, Dawson at #6 singles would take the forfeit.

Bjarne Bachmann led the Spartans in victories and finished the season with a 7-11 record at #1 singles.
