Box Score WAVERLY, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's tennis traveled to face the Wartburg College Knights in an American Rivers Conference match on Palm Sunday. UD would lose 1-8, but the match was close throughout. The Spartans would lose two out of three tie breaks to hand the match to Wartburg.

UD lost #1 doubles and #2 doubles 2-8, but fought hard in #3 doubles losing 6-8. The Spartans Bjarne Bachmann at #1 singles lost the first set 6-7 (7-1 in tie break), won the second set 6-4 and the third set tie break 10-4 to capture the match. Pedwar Castillo lost #2 singles 0-6. 0-6. Rashuan Duck hit his way to a first tie break at #3 singles which he lost 6-7 (4-7) and lost set two by a 4-6 mark. Ryan Kiddle lost #4 singles 0-6, 1-6. Dawson Freese lost first set at #5 singles 1-6, he rallied to capture the second set 6-3 to force another Spartan tie break. He was edged out in the tie break 10-6. Brady McIntyre lost #6 singles 4-6, 4-6.

The Spartans host the Loras College Duhawks on Wednesday, April 12 at 3:30 p.m., Central College on Friday, April 14 at 4:00 p.m., and Simpson College on Saturday, April 15 at 10:00 a.m.
