DUBUQUE, Iowa - The #20-ranked University of Dubuque held the lead in the American Rivers Conference dual meet against #13-ranked Coe College Kohawks through seven matches before a late rally by the Kohawks collected the final three wins and the dual meet by a 26-17 margin on senior night.

The dual meet started at 125 lbs. and the Spartans grabbed a quick lead after #5-ranked Brady Koontz (125) won by a 12-3 major decision over former Spartans Cade Hornback. He led 4-1 after the first period and added an escape in the second period to increase his lead to 5-1. He added a takedown, a four-point nearfall, and riding time for the major. Brother Dylan Koontz, ranked #8 (133) faced off against Alex Friddle in a battle. He added a two point takedown in the third for the slim 5-2 decision to extend UD's team lead to 7-0. Jevontae Yarbrough (141) was held scoreless by Bryce Parke in a 0-6 decision.

Billy Looney (149) lost to Riley Wright after he led 2-1 in the first period. He would be held to just an escape in the second and third in the 4-7 loss. Luke Radeke (157) would be held scoreless in the opening period 0-0. He grabbed an escape, added a takedown and a four-point nearfall to extend a 7-1 lead over Coe's Gabe McGeough after two periods. He would add a takedown and riding time for the major decision 10-2 and extend the UD team lead to 11-6 midway through the match.

Senior Devinaire Hayes led by a 2-1 margin in the first over Dylan Falck. An active second period saw the pair end with Hayes leading 5-4. Coe tied the match with a takedown before Hayes earned a takedown and captured the fall in 6:21 to push UD to a team lead of 17-6. Coe would win the final four matches to capture the dual. Julius Boimah (174) lost by a fall in :49 against #11-ranked L.J. Richardson. Pilo Perez (184) would lose by a technical fall 17-2 at the end of the first period (3:00) to #15-ranked Tristin Westphal. Tyler Thurston (197) collected a late match escape to stop a major decision in a 1-8 loss against Matt Arsenault. Darryl AIello (285) grabbed the first points with a takedown before an escape to Coe and a takedown would stop his match in a loss by a fall to #3-ranked Kaleb Reeves in 2:33.

UD will travel to Indianola, Iowa on Feb. 15 where they will wrestle the Simpson College Storm at 7:00 p.m.
