GENEVA, Ill. - On Saturday, the University of Dubuque women's hockey team wrapped up their series on the weekend against Aurora University with a 1-5 loss.
Cassidy Becia scored the game's opening goal in the loss.
Becia got the game's opening goal 6:01 into the first period off a
Lauren Jeffery assist. Aurora went on to score three goals in the third to lead by two after the opening period. Aurora would add a goal in each of the last two periods to finish out the game.
Five Spartans recorded multiple shots on goal with
Chloe Byma and Jeffery with four each.
Sarah Parker was able to block 10 shots and
Ava Dedrick added eight block shots.
Savannah Wuitschick played all 60 minutes in goal and recorded 54 saves (27 saves in the third period) in the loss.

The Spartans will have their much anticipated home opener next Tuesday night against St. Mary's University at 5:15 p.m. The game will be the first official collegiate women's hockey game in the state of Iowa across all divisions.
