INDIANOLA, Iowa - For the seventh straight time this season, the University of Dubuque men's basketball team earned a victory with Saturday's game being against the Storm of Simpson College.
Jaylin McCants scored 32 points in the Spartans 70-59 conference victory.
After trailing by one at the half, the Spartans came out aggressive on both ends of the floor shooting over 50% from the floor to outscore the Storm 41-29 in the second half. McCants had yet another stellar performance to lead the Spartans going 11-20 from the field and 8-11 from the charity stripe.
Grady Thompson and
Sam Kilburg had double digit scoring with 11 and 10 points respectively.
Brock Simon led the Spartans with 10 rebounds. The Spartans ended the night shooting 41.1% from the field on 23-56 shooting.

"Our guys played well especially in the second half defensively. We also hit some timely shots in the second half. Jaylin had a very good second half and I believe we had nine stops in a row that was key. Simpson has a nice team and it's always tough to win on the road in our league."
The Spartans move to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

The Spartans will have a few weeks off before their next game when they travel to Hawaii for the Hoops in Hawaii Holiday Classic Dec.21-22. The Spartans will face Whitworth University on Dec.21 and then Lewis & Clark College on Dec. 22.
