DUBUQUE, Iowa - The 2023 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Volleyball Tournament Championship No. 3-seed Coe College (21-11 overall, 6-2 A-R-C) overcame an earlier season loss in Dubuque to No. 1-seed University of Dubuque (22-9 overall, 8-0 A-R-C) in a hotly contested match winning the NCAA automatic qualifier 3-1 over the Spartans.
The Spartans struck quick and went up a set after winning 21-25 in front of a loud and near capacity crowd on Saturday evening, Coe Captured set two by a 25-16 margin and won set three 25-14 and captured the match by winning a back and forth set four 25-23.
Emma Powell led the Spartans with 14 kills after 55 attacks.
Alexis Bedier tallied 10 kills in 28 attacks and
Ashlee Adler had 10 kills in 37 attacks and led the team with three block solos. Ashlynn McGinnis finished with 21 set assists and
Alexis Kammerer had 18 set assists. Powell also led with 26 digs trailed by
Katie Wright who had 19 and Adler who had 17.

The Coe Kohawks won the tournament championship for the second consecutive year and marks the program's third conference tournament title in program history (2014, 2022, 2023). Tonight's title earned the league's automatic qualifier for the 2023 NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament.

April Elsbernd led the University of Dubuque to the regular season championship for the first time since 1995 and finished undefeated in league play for the first time since 1982.

Regional play of the NCAA Division III Tournament takes place November 16-18, 2023, at eight, to be determined, campus sites. The tournament finals will take place on November 29, 2023 - December 2, 2023 at Roberts Pavillion in Claremont, California hosted by Claremont McKenna-Harvey Mudd-Scripps Colleges. The NCAA Division III Volleyball selection show takes place on Monday, November 13 at 12:00 p.m. (CST).
