Women's Soccer Concludes Season in A-R-C Semifinals

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's soccer team concluded their season on Wednesday night in the A-R-C semifinals against the Loras College Duhawks in the Rock Bowl. The Spartans were unable to get on the scoreboard in the 3-0 defeat.

The Spartans were unable to get anything going offensively as they only had three shot on goal opportunities in five shots as they had to play more on the defensive end throughout the 90 minutes. The Duhawks had 12 shots on goal in 22 shots, so the Spartans defense was very active and held strong for much of the game.

With the Spartans being on the defensive end much of the night, Karissa Cruz was active securing nine saves in 90 minutes in goal. Corner kicks went in favor of the Duhawks with seven and only three for the Spartans.

The Spartans conclude their 2023 season at 11-6-1 and tied the sixth most wins in program history. This is also the farthest the Spartans have reached in the conference tournament since 2019.

The careers of Emma Kober, Anastasia Mazzanti, Lydia Smith, Emily Gross, and Kailey Tyburski come to a close.

Women's soccer all-conference awards will be announced next week and academic awards will be announced in the near future.
