STORM LAKE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's soccer team picked up their fourth conference win of the season on Saturday defeating the Buena Vista University Beavers 3-1. 

The Spartans fell behind early at 26:59 in the first half after Buena Vista scored the first goal of the game. Brandon Kaup would quickly respond with his second goal of the season in the 31st minute to even the score at 1-1. Scoring would go dormant for the next 40 minutes before Gavin Wooldridge broke the tie to give the Spartans their first lead of the night 2-1. Michael Poitry would double the lead late 3-1 in the 82nd minute. Wooldridge scored or assisted on all three Spartans goals tonight. 

The Spartans had 24 shots with 14 on goal throughout the game compared to only five total shots and four on goal for the Beavers. Corner kick advantage belonged to the Sparans as well with 11 and only two for the Beavers. 

The Spartans move to 6-8-2 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play.

The Spartans will play their regular season finale at Oyen Field on Tuesday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m against the Luther College Norse. With how the schedule's sit among the conference teams, at minimum the Spartans and Norse will be fighting for the #4 and #5 seeds in the A-R-C tournament. If this is the case, then the winner of Tuesday's game would host a rematch in the first round of the conference tournament next Saturday.
