DUBUQUE, Iowa - One last conference road game for the University of Dubuque volleyball team resulted in the Spartans staying unbeaten in conference play at 5-0 after defeating the Luther College Norse in four sets 3-1 (25-15, 20-25, 25-12, 25-18)
In the opening set for the Spartans, they were able to win 25-15 over the Norse. The Spartans were able to record 21 kills with an attacking percentage of .439 which was the best of the four sets on the night. The second set would belong to the Norse 20-25 after the Spartans were on the wrong end of the attacking percentage at a .200 clip. The Spartans would rebound and show they were the better team with dominate set wins in the third and fourth sets.
Ashlee Adler led the Spartans with 15 kills in 31 attempts.
Emma Powell and
Alexis Adkins also had double digit kills with 10 and 11 respectively. Adkins had a phenomenal night in her 17 attack attempts recording a kill in over half her attempts at a .529 clip. The Fennimore, Wis. natiev also added six block assists to lead the team.
Ashlyn McGinnis was the leader in assists with 25 and
Alexis Kammerer was able to add 18 assists. The Spartans dig leaders included
Katie Wright (18), Adler (15), and McGinnis (15).Â
The Spartans sit in a really good spot with three conference games to go against Buena Vista (6-15), Wartburg (9-15), and Nebraska Wesleyan (15-6). Nebraska Wesleyan sits at 4-0 in conference play and will play two conference games before they meet the Spartans next Friday, October 27 at 6:00 p.m. inside Stolz Sports Center. The A-R-C regular season title could very well come down to the Friday night matchup with the Prairiewolves.Â

For now, the Spartans will have two non-conference games against Grinnell College on Friday, October 20 at 7:00 p.m. and Augustana College on Tuesday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m.Â
