Men's Soccer Unable to Hold Blugolds in Second Half

DUBUQUE. Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's soccer team fell in their final non-conference game on Tuesday evening as they allowed two goals in the second half to fall 0-2 to the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds.

The first 70 minutes of the game would be a constant defensive battle between both teams. Both teams got great looks, but were unable to capitalize throughout the beginning of the game. The Spartans got off five shots and the Blugolds managed six. After what seemed like both teams were heading for a draw, the Blugolds got on the board in the 70th minute and then again in the 74th minute to score the only two goals of the game.

Matt Marchiori secured three saves in the game facing 13 shots throughout the 90 minute game. The three shots on goal for the Spartans came from Gavin Wooldridge (2) and Brandon Kaup (1) and Wooldridge had four total shots.

The Spartans are now 4-8-1 overall and will play their final four regular season games against conference opponents with three of them at home.
