ELMHURST, Ill. - The University of Dubuque men's soccer team stopped a two-game skid and returned to early season form with a 2-1 victory over Elmhurst University on Saturday.

The Spartans jumped out to an early lead and would enter halftime with a 2-0 advantage after a pair of goals by Gavin Wooldridge. He scored at 19:40 and added his second of the afternoon at 42:44. He would end with five shots and four on goal. Elmhurst sliced into the Spartans lead after scoring their lone goal in the final 10 minutes of action at 80:58.

UD finished with 21 shots with 15 on goal and held Elmhurst to 11 shots with seven on goal. The Spartans kept the host Bluejays keeper busy with 13 saves. Christopher Rastock played 90 minutes in goal and stopped six shots to earn the win. Twenty-three Spartans entered the game and 11 finished with a shot.

UD will stay in the Chicago area for Sunday, when they visit North Central College in Naperville, Ill. on Sept. 18 at 5 p.m.
