Box Score DECORAH, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball team was on the road tonight for an American Rivers Conference game against the Luther College Norse in a makeup game which was postponed for health and safety protocols earlier in January. The Spartans last time on the court had their winning streak snapped by the Buena Vista University Beavers at home 65-60. The Spartans were able to flush out last Wednesday's game and earn a big road win 67-50 over the Luther College Norse. The Spartans continue to hold the top spot in the conference with five games remaining in the regular season. 

The Spartans would get their first bucket of the game with 19:03 left in the first half from a Levi Scheuermann lay-up. The Spartans would never relinquish the lead and lead for all, but :57 seconds of the game. The Spartans were able to shoot well in the first half connecting on 15-26 (57.7%) field goals to grab a comfortable 18 point lead at the half 37-19. The second half was much of the same as the Spartans were able to build on their lead and get it as large as 27 points with 6:56 left in the game before taking the 17 point victory. 

The Spartans had two in double figures tonight with Peter Ragen leading the charge, shooting 6-9 from the field, 4-5 from beyond the arc, and 1-2 from the charity stripe to collect 17 points. Jaylin McCants shot 70% from the floor to add 16 points and also collected nine rebounds. The Spartans were able to secure 24 points off of 11 Norse turnovers. The Spartans did not get to the free throw line a lot tonight, but they were able to knock down 7-9 (77.8%).

The Spartans return home Wednesday night, February 9 as they host the Coe College Kohawks who are on a six game winning streak. The Spartans will be looking for a signature win to help them maintain the top spot in the conference standings.
