DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque wrestling team would face a tough top-ranked opponent in the Loras College Duhawks in an American Rivers Conference dual meet on Friday night in Stoltz Sports Center. The match began at 197 lbs. and UD lost by a major decision to fall behind by a score of 0-4. UD's 
Robert Melise would give the Spartans a lead, 6-4 when he won by a fall in :37 seconds over Dakoda Powell at 285 lbs.
Loras would capture the next three matches by close decisions to extend their lead in front of a boisterous crowd. Four out of the next five matches would allow the Duhawks to expand their lead with extra points, winning by a major decision at 149 lbs; a tech fall at 165 lbs., and consecutive first period falls at 174 lbs. and 184 lbs.
UD will host #2-ranked Coe College next Friday, Feb. 11 at 7:00 p.m. in Stoltz Sports Center. Coe lost to #7 Wartburg on Friday by a 15-22 margin in Waverly.
