Pella, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's basketball team grabbed another American Rivers Conference victory after never trailing in the 63-48 road win.
The Spartans led by as many as 19 points, scored 34 points in the paint, and collected 23 second chance points. UD's bench added 16 points, but the Dutch would earn 22 points from their bench. The Spartans made 26-72 attempts from the field (36.1%), 5-21 from the three point area (23.8%), and 6-12 from the free throw line. UD out rebounded the host Dutch 59-36.
UD's offense was led on Saturday by
Isabella Tierney who finished the afternoon with 17 points after sinking 7-14 attempts from the field and compiled nine rebounds.
Morgan Hawkins added 16 points and seven rebounds.
Kathleen Mathias ended with 12 points and led rebounding with a game high 15 boards which included 10 defensive grabs.
The Spartans (5-4 overall, 2-1 in A-R-C) will host the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairiewolves next Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2:00 p.m. in Stoltz Sports Center.
