DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's basketball team hosted the Buena Vista University Beavers in their conference home opener. The Spartans entered their second conference game of the year, whereas the Beavers were opening up conference play tonight. The Spartans were led by senior guard, Tabria Thomas who ended the game with 29 points with 25 coming in the first half. The Spartans would win their first conference game of the year 82-63 against the Beavers on Jon Davison Court. 

Thomas would score at will in 18 minutes on the court finishing with 29 points (career-high) on 10-12 shooting (83.3%), 3-3 (100%) from the three-point line, and a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line. Thomas would also add five boards and four assists. Isabella Tierney also had a great performance ending with 20 points. 

The Spartans would hit their largest lead of the game at 36 in the beginning of the fourth quarter before subbing to the bench. The Spartans were able to force 28 turnovers and made sure to take advantage as they collected 34 points off mistakes by the Beavers. The Spartans were able to lead the entire game in all but the opening nine seconds. The Spartans were able to play 17 tonight in the commanding win.
