CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's soccer team traveled to face the Coe College Kohawks on Wednesday night. The Spartans would score in the first half and shut the Kohawks out of the scoring column as they take a 1-0 A-R-C victory on the road.
The Spartans would get many great looks at the goal against the Kohawks, but one was all they needed as
Josh Krenger would score in the 21st minute off a
Draek Littler assist. The Spartans were very accurate with their shots as eight of the nine shots would be on target. Littler and
Drew Wisdom lead the Spartans with two shots on goal.
Lucas Von Braun,
Gavin Wooldridge,
Noah Hook and Krenger each added one shot on goal.
Matt Marchiori had as quiet of a night as you can have facing zero shots earning his sixth victory of the season in goal for the Spartans.
The Spartans were given three corner kicks and the Spartan defense only allowed one corner kick to the Kohawks. In the low scoring game, the play would be clean as no fouls were called from either sides, however two yellow cards were called on the Spartans with both coming in the second half.
